Before I get started, I have to say that jellyfish are cute but nothing to play with. Sure, it’s squishy on the top but the tentacles, for some jellyfish, can kill a grown man in just two minutes. Reader, beware you’re in for some tentacles!
There are many kinds of jellyfish. Some can glow in the dark, some can kill, some are square, and some are the size of a fingernail but still deadly. The Irukandji jellyfish is one type of box jellyfish. The Irukandji comes in one size small. (Don’t worry; some jellyfish come in all T-shirt sizes.) The Irukandji is naturally 5 millimeters or 0.20 inches with four long tentacles. Within those four tentacles is extremely deadly venom. This venom quickly stuns their prey and is 100 times more powerful then a cobra. The average jellyfish has stingers only on its tentacles but the Irukandji has stingers on its tentacles and bell. (Swimming seems scary now.)
Moving on from the Irukandji, my favorite jellyfish is the crystal jellyfish. The crystal jellyfish is one species that can glow in the dark by producing its own light.
I think this is enough tentacles for this articles so join me next time for ALPACAS!
