Battlefield 3

Battlefield 3's solo campaign in a word: unimpressive.

In a letter, probably a C or C-minus. Not that we should be shocked: The core/trunk Battlefield games are online animals. Shortly after the "hey-I'm-on-a-train, no-idea-why!" intro, you wind up in the sequence trumpeted this summer to show off the game's visuals. It sure looks nice for a game running on a six-year-old console, somewhere between the Ghost Recon games and Crysis 2 if it matters, but the visual scope of the game is barely 100 yards, complicating long-range gunplay and basic tactical planning. Note that if you have even a modestly powerful PC of recent vintage, you're stepping well down the visual ladder, playing either of the console versions. The Co-op Campaign is a very fun experience with X-box live game play only 2 people can play at a time on the co-op servers and if you play some of the missions sneakily then there’s some secret achievements in there for you.

The multiplayer is a very long experience but also very exciting part of the game. There are four unique classes Assault, Recon, Support, and Engineer. Assault also known as the medic is a all out brawl of assault rifles and health kits and defibulators  Recon uses snipers and spots enemies Support uses light machine guns mortars C4 and claymores and engineer uses sub machine guns and rocket launchers to take out vehicles and uses m15 mines to take out tanks. There are 45 levels and tons of maps and it takes a total of 100 hours to get up a kit and unlock everything. If you pre-ordered the game it comes with the newest expansion coming out in December 2011 that gives you 10 new guns and 4 maps and 3 new vehicles.
