On November 7th, “Pack the Gym Night” was held at Elverado Junior High School. It was the boy’s first home game, under the first year head coach Paul Whittaker. For the festivities, EJHS hosted Our Lady of Mt Carmel. There was a chili dinner to support Little League Football, door prizes, 50/50 drawing, and amazing rendition of the National Anthem. While there was a good competition from both sides, our boys ended up losing the JV and Varsity game.

Our starters where: Clayton Funk, Noah Hendricks, Sage Sarensen, Trevor Dunmyer, and Kevin Bruce. For most of JV this was their first taste of basketball and though they lacked experience they played with a lot of heart. Sage Sarensen, Kevin Bruce and Clayton Funk combined for 6 points, but the defense couldn’t hold on and gave up 20 points.

The Varsity started out with the boys running out to an    awesome cheer the cheerleaders did for them. For the National Anthem by Garrett James was AMAZING! Varsity starters where: Braden Tuthill, Keaton Tyner, Drake Horn, Brock Barnes, and Alec Valerius. Brock Barnes had the leading points with 14; Alec Valerius had the second highest amount of points with 8 Braden Tuthill tied for third most points (2) with Sage Sarensen. The boys lost 26-41, although they didn’t come out with a win, they played with a lot of heart.
