iPads for EJHS

The iPad could help  EJHS by replacing all are textbooks with iPads.

We could also use them for A.R. reading and getting on educational sites. Students can also track their assignments, taking notes, and studying for finals. We can watch videos and movies for educational reasons use the iPad for lessons, monitor progress, and stay organized. Teaches and students can look up maps for classes. They can also print student’s reports, documents, and photos right from your iPad. Paper use has decreased, some teachers have gone paperless.                                                                                                           One Of the schools we know that have iPads,  Pinckneyville School received a whole allotment from the E2T2 grant. We asked our district technology director a few questions and he was very insightful . he said  “it would also save money by not having to buy planners because the iPad has an agenda app. Not only students but teachers can use ipad they can use them to grade papers.” Mr. Lewis says it would be a good idea because we wouldn’t have to carry text books around and he thinks kids would like them better. He also said that the apps on the iPad would help increase the learning. Mr. Lewis said a bad thing is it would be hard to write an article.  If the internet was down the iPads wouldn’t work, which means we would have to go back to books!   We couldn’t sell the computer lab because the computer has some stuff that the iPads don’t.  However we could save 75% of budget by not buying text books.

We think that we should have the iPad at our school because it would decrease cost  by not having to buy textbooks or school supplies.  One iPad costs $499 and we have 116 students in our EJHS so that would be $57,873. Meanwhile books coast  $40,571 for 116 students. With iPads you wouldn't  have to replace it every 7-8 years. You could just update them.
