Little League Football Program

football

This will be Elverado’s Trico’s very first ever little tackle league football program. For the past 26 years the Elverado (Trico) football team have suffered losing seasons, and have failed to develop a positive culture in the program. In order to combat these issues, the tackle program, will serve as the premiere football destination for anyone in the Elverado-Trico area.

Mr. Zach Schumacher will be the head coach and the director of this whole program. Coach Schumacher has lots of experience in football since playing two years at SIU, and receiving All-State honors his senior year. Daniel Schumacher will join the staff in the fall, and brings an All-American resume, along with over 10 years of coaching experience. Randy Rindfuss( All-Conference) Justin Williams ( All-South) and Charles Sierens round our the current coaching staff that Schumacher will bring in.

Locally, former High School coach, and School Board Member Richard Bernadini will come on board. Rich has already proven himself a valuable member of the staff by providing equipment, and focusing the vision of the program, whilst lending his extensive experience to the other coaches available ( also he has not missed one food based fundraiser).

Coach Schumacher and Robert Cavitt have been completing the fundraising for the program.. Also he has gotten most of the equipment that we have now. We have 83 football helmets and we have 40 shoulder pads, along with these we have all the jerseys we need, 20 pairs of pants, blocking dummies, 45 footballs, and a banner.

Mr. Schumacher has said that a lot of the thanks goes to Danny Ghoul for giving us a bunch of helmets. While Mr. Gould donated over $4000 worth of gear, many other people have chosen to donate money so that other items can be purchased.

On February 18th there will be a trivia night, along with a silent auction. All proceeds go to purchasing the equipment for the team. There will be cash prizes for the winners, and the silent auction includes some great prizes as well. Donations included a Chicago Bears  laser autographed ball, while Timex watches, a Balfour produced fully customized letterman’s jacket, a Menards gift pack, Buffalo Wild Wings gift cards, hotel accommodations in Tunica, and indoor water park tickets just to name a few.

With all that’s going on it can be hard to keep up with the constant feed of information coming in, so Mr. Schumacher has provided a Facebook page for everyone to “like”. Just search “ Elverado Trio Little League Football, and you can find all the information that you need. Go Falcons!
